Organised Locally, Coordinated Globally

organisational_structure
While the IONS-Project is global and IONS conferences can be found on all continents, the conferences are organised locally by a local student chapter. The organisational structure of the IONS-Project reflects this by giving large responsibility to local organizers, and at the same time supporting them globally by a coordinator and an advisory board.

If you have any questions, please contact Zulya Tomova.

Advisory Board

The IONS Advisory board is constituted of IONS sponsoring societies’ representatives and the most experienced IONS organizers. The role of the advisory board is to assist the IONS international coordination committee and to ensure long-term success of the project thought sharing its experience and knowledge.

International Coordination Committee

Members of the IONS coordination committee are all experienced IONS leaders, working in close collaboration with the Advisory Board and supporting local organizers. The coordinator is the main contact for IONS. He/she supports the local conference organizers in all matters and ensures a knowledge transfer from former experienced organizers to new organizers and coordinates the strategic development of IONS.

Local Conference Organizers

IONS conferences are organized by a local student chapter at a university or institution. The student chapter decides on the conference program, invites plenary speakers, run an advertisement for a conference, set up a budget and contact sponsors. While working independently, local conference organizers are coached by international coordination committee during all steps of conference organization.
